Tip#12 for Today
Do you ever get impatient with yourself? It's a tough one to manage isn't it? The balance between getting over procrastination by taking action - and taking so much action you end up burnt out is hard to find. Sound familiar?
This is the number 12 challenge my clients experienced during 2022. We are past the halfway mark to the 23 tips to start 23 better together!
Today's tip to help you manage your impatience better is about self kindness. Acknowledging that there are things to do, and that some of them feel challenging, and taking your time to work through them one at a time takes some practice.
Reassuring and encouraging yourself, as you would a colleague or a child, is super helpful. Breathing through the panic or anxiety can help too.
It's not a one time solution, but over time, you can adapt from a hard out pushing yourself into action and getting upset with yourself for not being fast enough, clever enough, skilled enough or patient enough to a more measured and balanced approach.
And remember to break the task down to simplify it, and ask for help or support if you need it.
